Title
"Improving Readout and Sensitivity of Nitrogen Vacancy Centers in Diamond "
Abstract
Negatively charged Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) color centers in diamond have emerged as promising quantum solid-state systems, with applications ranging from quantum information processing to magnetic sensing. However, The Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of the NV readout in room temperature is very poor and requires thousands of readout repetitions in order to recover the original spin state.
Understanding the NV center dynamics is crucial to improving the readout SNR. In this work we explore new transitions and charge state dynamics, while investigating new methods to improve the readout SNR (using Purcell factor and a new readout scheme). Finally, we present an attempt to find the mysterious energy level of the singlet state.
